Contraband: Cell phone soda can

These photos were submitted by a corrections officer in Indiana, who wrote, “This is a picture taken of a coke can that offenders can buy on commissary. When offenders buy soda they buy more than a few six-packs for a reason.

“The coke can in this picture was placed in the middle of 12 cans of coke so that when searching the offenders’ cell, you would just assume that it’s just another regular coke can.

“So the key is to pick up each can, squeeze it, shake it, and attempt to twist the top and bottom to see if either give way to expose a secret hiding space.

“As you can see in this picture, the offender tried to make it as heavy as a normal coke can and with toilet paper, the offender was attempting to prevent the cell phone from rattling around inside when you shake it to conceal the cell phone and charger hidden inside.”
