OAKLAND, Calif. — After deliberating for a total of five hours, an Oakland County Circuit Court jury returned a verdict of not guilty for a former Oakland County Sheriff’s deputy accused of having sexual contact with a jail inmate.
The jury deliberated for two hours on Thursday and an additional three hours Friday morning before reaching the not guilty verdict for Waterford Township resident Kenneth Hartshorn.
Hartshorn was alleged to have touched an inmate’s breast and let her out of a cell to perform oral sex on him on March 2, 2010. He was charged with second-degree criminal sexual conduct.
