LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. — The death of a third inmate in four months is prompting Larimer County Sheriff Justin Smith to launch a review of jail procedures.

The Larimer County Coroner is scheduled to perform an autopsy on 31-year-old Brian Porter’s body May 5. Porter died Wednesday morning in the Larimer County Jail. He was the third inmate to die in the jail in 2011.

His good behavior put him in a position where he was allowed to work in the kitchen, which is what he was doing when he told his supervisor he wasn’t feeling well.
