MARICOPA COUNTY, Ariz. — Video footage recently obtained by KPHO/Ch. 5 shows one Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office jail inmate beating another to death in May.
Robert Cotton, 28, was strangled by another inmate, Pete Van Winkle, 26, according to an MCSO report. The incident, which began shortly after 8 p.m., was caught on a camera inside the jail.
