Knife found in food-service shipment

Scrutiny and inspection of food products is a necessary security measure at any facility. Unannounced searches and the use of metal detectors are two ways of minimizing the threat of weapons ending up in the hands of inmates.

The knife below was found by an inmate while unpacking a box of celery that was delivered by a produce distributor who serves several other correctional institutions.
