CAPE COD, Mass. — A confessed bank robber was sentenced to a decade behind bars earlier this month, but recently garnered more time after striking a correctional officer during a scuffle with other inmates.

Cape Cod Today reports that Brian Iliffe was given ten years to ten years plus a day after pleading guilty to armed masked robbery, larceny of a motor vehicle and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle July 11.

While he was in custody awaiting trial, Iliffe was involved in a scuffle with other inmates and struck a correctional officer during the incident.

When he pleaded guilty to the robbery and car thefts, he also pleaded guilty to assault and battery on the officer, earning himself another two years in prison.
