SAN DIEGO — A man who voiced the Peanuts character Charlie Brown when he was nine years old is now facing prison time.
Sky News reports that Peter Robbins, 59, was being sentenced for violating his probation through drinking and cutting off his electronic tag when he threatened the judge.
He also allegedly offered $50,000 for the murder of Sheriff Bill Gore, the sheriff of San Diego County.
Robbins pleaded guilty two years ago to harassing and threatening his ex-girlfriend, and the plastic surgeon who had worked on her.
His current bail is set at $250,000.
Robbins voiced Charlie Brown in 1965 in A Charlie Brown Christmas, and also appeared in other animated Peanuts specials.
He could face up to 11 years behind bars.
