LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. — A Larimer County Jail inmate with a history of assaulting jailers is again facing assault charges after being accused of punching a deputy in the face.
According to the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office, inmate Devin Thomas, 26, punched a deputy who was handing out clean laundry in a high-security area of the Fort Collins jail on Dec. 19.
“During the laundry exchange, Thomas went to the exit door and demanded to be released. The deputy ordered Thomas to return to his cell. As the deputy stood talking to Thomas, he suddenly punched the deputy in the face,” sheriff’s spokesman John Schulz said in a statement. “The deputy immediately drew his Taser and ordered Thomas to return to his cell. At that point, Thomas complied and returned to his cell.
