LEBANON, Ill. — A woman who earned the moniker “Flip Flop Bandit” for a southern Illinois bank robbery has been ordered to spend four years and three months in federal prison.
Carla Walker was sentenced Friday after she pleaded guilty to one count of bank robbery, according to Fox News. She was wearing flip flops and a track suit at the time of the robbery.
She admitted robbing the First Federal Savings Bank after pointing a pellet gun at bank tellers and insisting that other guns were trained on the bank.
She made off with between $14,000 and $16,000 after ordering tellers to the ground.
