LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC — Investigators have charged a man with kidnapping and killing a missing Midlands man despite the fact that the victim’s body has never been found.
Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts announced Wednesday detectives served William Thomas “Tommy” Embree, Jr., 34, with arrest warrants for the kidnapping and murder of Michael Jody George, 22, of West Columbia. George was reported missing by family members on December 25, 2011.
Embree, Jr. began serving a six-year prison sentence with the South Carolina Department of Corrections on March 21 after being convicted in Lexington County of an unrelated assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.
