WISCONSIN RAPIDS — A 24-year-old Marshfield man was sentenced to six years in prison Tuesday for pourning gasoline on a pregnant woman and punching her in the stomach to try to cause a miscarriage.
Tyler S. Ress, who currently is in Waupun Correctional Institute for unrelated charges, was given four years of extended supervision to go with his prison sentence for second-degree recklessly endangering safety, strangulation and false imprisonment, all as a domestic abuse incident and repeat offender.
Wood County District Attorney Craig Lambert asked Circuit Judge Nicholas Brazeau Jr. to sentence Ress to seven years in prison, but to start the sentence immediately, meaning Ress would serve a portion of it at the same time he finishes his current sentence, which will end in two to three years.
Brazeau, who warned Ress the sentence would be harsh, ordered the six years in prison to begin after Ress finishes his current sentence.
“You’re a nightmare,” Brazeau told Ress.
