Lancaster, PA — Investigators say a Lancaster County Prison guard sold cocaine to a police informant.
Douglas John Brosey, 42, of 102 Timber Drive, Mountville, was arrested Sunday after he sold 14 grams of cocaine to a Pennsylvania state police confidential informant for $750, police said.
The exchange of the drug for cash took place at 2:15 a.m. Sunday outside the Giant supermarket, 235 N. Reservoir St., according to police.
At the time of his arrest, Brosey was found to be in possession of an additional gram of cocaine.
What led police to Brosey was not disclosed; state police Lt. Myra A. Taylor said that information probably was “part of the ongoing investigation.”
Brosey was charged by Trooper Noel Velez with possession and delivery of a controlled substance. He was arraigned Sunday before District Judge Janice Jimenez, and was released on $20,000 bail.
According to the prison’s deputy warden, Donald Raiger, Brosey had been a corrections officer at the facility since May 2008.
As a result of the charges, Raiger said, Brosey “has been terminated” by the prison.
Calls to the warden, Vincent Guarini, for further information were not returned.
