DENVER — A Saudi national convicted of keeping a slave and sexually assaulting her in his Aurora basement wants to go back home to serve out the rest of his sentence.
In 2006, Homaidan Al-Turki got 28 years for the crime. That sentence was later reduced to 8 years.
Al-Turki was in Arapahoe County court Thursday for a sentence reduction hearing. A decision is expected next week when witness testimony continues.
People testifying for Al-Turki told the court his family is suffering and treatment would be more effective in Saudi Arabia among family and friends.
