SOMERSET – The county prison board members approved the new arrestee booking policy for the county jail during a meeting Tuesday.
The new process will provide booking for arrestees after 10 p.m. and before 8 a.m., which eliminates the need for overnight on-call magistrates.
Greg Briggs, county jail warden, said the process will allow police officers to get back on the streets faster after making an arrest. He expects the station to be operational by mid-January.
