FOLSOM, Calif. — Those hoping to preserve Folsom State Prison for the history books are inviting larger companies to help out.
CBS News reports that a group of correctional officers want large companies like HP and Intel to back the preservation of the prison and to help turn it into a museum.
The museum would house valuables from inmate manufactured guns and old canes, used way before batons.
The biggest hurdle the officers face is winning a 50-year lease from the state on a 15-acres piece of land.
In July, they’ll celebrate 135 years in the prison, which will kick off fundraising.
