GERING, Neb. — A year after correctional officer Amanda Baker was killed at the Western Nebraska Juvenile Services Center, staff are organizing a walk to remember the fallen officer.
KOTA TV reports that the walk will take place on Valentine’s Day at the National Monument, and will be open and free to the public. Any donations made in Baker’s name will go toward an organization for fallen officers.
Registration for the event will take place at 6:30 a.m. and the walk will begin at 7 a.m.
