IRELAND – One week after another warder was beaten by a different inmate, another has tried to gouge out a warder’s eyes and bite him in order to impress a recently incarcerated mobster.
The Irish Mirror reports that the inmate in question tried to chat up the gangster, but the warder wouldn’t allow the two to interact. The inmate reacted poorly, attacking the warder by jumping on top of him and trying to gouge his eyes out.
“Criminals have been falling over each other to impress this mobster,” one insider told The Mirror.
The warder was quickly rescued by coworkers and did not suffer long-term, physical injury.
The inmate is expected to be disciplined for the incident.
The mobster is currently believed to be orchestrating the smuggling of contraband drugs into the facility, which is raising the danger level of majorly understaffed warders.
