HALDEN, Norway — An inmate at Halden prison was caught hacking the jail’s TV system so he could watch pornography.
The hack was detected after a spike in online data traffic and TV errors were investigated, according to The Independent.
Along with the online issues, authorities also found a handwritten note with a log-in on an inmate during a search.
The TV system security has now been upgraded to avoid a repeat of the event.
As part of Norway’s approach to prison and prison reform, inmates are given flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges and ensuites.
