SINGAPORE — A prison in Singapore is improving the ease of contacting offenders under enhanced supervision programs by using a SMS system.
The SMS system will assist programs such as ‘Half-way care’ or ‘Aftercare’ programs, which provide support to inmates who have been released, according to Future Gov.
Prison staff calls about 80 offenders back twice a month for counselling, medical exams and meetings. It is believed that the SMS system will improve staff efficiency.
