Tiffany Segers Because the inmates have no consequences. Their only consequences for their crimes, whether they are crimes in the free world or crimes/things they do in prison, are being locked up. They have more rights than the COs.

Jeff Vickrey The reason for more staff assaults and deaths is for one the inexperienced staff. Every Corrections department in the Country is having huge turnover rates because of lack of pay raises and increases in insurance. Thus they are unable to keep people long enough to become experienced and are constantly training younger and newer staff. Another thing is that there is no punishment for inmates who assault staff. They go to the hole for a short period of time and maybe have years added on but nothing significant enough to deter them from assaulting or killing staff.

Michael Thomas Better pay. Low pay attracts those that can’t get work elsewhere. One smart hardworking co is better than a thousand lazy, lying problem for everyone co.

Dee Harden Put cameras on every wing , pay better , have better rank that will back the COs up more instead of the inmates. , and go back to the old school ways where you can discipline the inmates more according to there offenses.

Craig Boyle Fix the mental health system. Local jails, lock ups and prisons are in no way therapeutic communities. Increase pay and benefits to Sworn and non sworn correctional staff you get what you pay for
