FAYETTEVILLE — An inmate’s five-fingered discount that led her to shoplift $144 in eye shadow seems to have given one Washington County corrections officer the idea for a Facebook challenge.
5 News Online reports that CO Livona Springston posted a picture of herself sporting a similar makeup application as that of the mug shot of Brandy Allen, the woman accused of shoplifting.
“Soooo, here’s my challenge,” Springston wrote in her Facebook post on Sept. 5. “Now ladies, it’s up to you.”
Many who commented on the post noticed her apparent imitation of the inmate’s mug shot, one even going so far as to say, “Did you steal that eye make-up?”
Allen’s story went viral on social media after it hit the web. She currently faces charges of shoplifting and disorderly conduct. She was released from detention on an $830 bond and attended a court hearing on Sept. 26.
Is this misconduct on part of the officer, or a harmless social media post?
