CHESTER, Pa. — A corrections officer was jailed on charges that he attempted to lure two teenage girls into his car.
Samuel Willis, 32, of Glassboro, who officials said had worked at the George W. Hill Correctional Facility for 10 days, was arraigned Thursday on charges of stalking, luring a child into a motor vehicle, harassment, disorderly conduct and recklessly endangering another person.
Hill was lodged in the Delaware County prison in lieu of $100,000 bail. It was not immediately known if he had an attorney.
Police said officers stopped to investigate when they saw two young girls talking to a man in a car about 1 a.m. Thursday, and the driver flashed a badge and identified himself as a corrections officer.
The girls, ages 15 and 16, appeared close to tears and told the officers the driver had followed them for four or five blocks, asking them to come over to his car. They said when they continued to walk away, his demeanor changed and he ordered them to stay and to listen to him.
One of the girls said she had been about to dial 911 on a cell phone when the two officers arrived. Police said the girls were unharmed
