MINNEHAHA COUNTY, Minn. — A man jailed for simple assault over the summer is facing new charges after destroying a commissary kiosk.

The Argus Leader reports that Craig Alexander Bland, 23, broke the Minnehaha County Jail kiosk back in July, 10 days after his arrest on assault charges.

Warden Jeff Gromer said he wasn’t sure what caused Bland to break the touchscreen computer that allows inmates to access their jail cash accounts. He’s not the only one to do so, however – at least three kiosks, valued at between $1,000 and $2,500, have been destroyed since Gromer began as warden two years ago.

Bland faces up to two years in prison if convicted of his new charges.
