MIAMI, Fla. — A police officer accused of shooting at corrections officer in a bout of road rage is now being sued by the same corrections officer, who says her case is going nowhere.

“I want justice. I need justice,” said Georgina Illa, who says Officer Jonathan Lang shot into her car, according to CBS News. “And this has become my life. They’ve told me, ‘live your life, forget about it.’”

Pictures show the damage done to her vehicle after the confrontation; the bullet went through the trunk and the passenger seat. Illa said she was shocked to learn the man who had shot at her was a police officer.

“The fact that it was a police officer, it was mind blowing and what was even more mind blowing was that just after I found out he’s an officer, everything was just, ‘Well, he’s an officer.’”

Lang refused to allow a search of his vehicle, and after it was impounded, investigators found bullets but no gun.

Surveillance video shows a man wearing gloves using a car key to get in and take what Illa believes was the gun used in the shooting.

The surveillance video has not been released to the public because it is part of an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Florida Highway Patrol.
