FORT DODGE, Iowa — A guard has been hospitalized after being kicked and punched by an inmate at the Fort Dodge prison.
Iowa Corrections Department spokesman Fred Scaletta said in a news release Monday that the attack occurred around 8 p.m. Sunday in the prison’s Dolliver Living Unit. Other prison officers restrained the inmate, Vincent Dillworth. Three living units were locked down in the wake of the attack.
Scaletta says Dillworth has been imprisoned since March 2, 2012, serving a 10-year sentence for robbery in Scott County.
