LAS VEGAS — A city jail inmate has been re-arrested after he was released by mistake over the weekend in Las Vegas.
Authorities are still investigating a clerical mix-up that led to 59-year-old Charles Rutherford’s release on Saturday night.
He was being held on warrant charges when he became the second prisoner released by mistake from a southern Nevada jail in a week.
36-year-old federal inmate Jesse Lee Earhart turned himself in on Friday after he was let out of the North Las Vegas jail last Tuesday.
