LAS VEGAS, Nev. — A Nevada Department of Corrections officer who was just getting off work was killed when a drunk driver crashed into his vehicle, among others, on Sunday.
FOX News reports that Sharrod Hightower, 34, was killed when Arian Galindo, 26, came flying down the road “like a pinball,” crashing into one car after another.
Hightower had family coming into town on Monday, according to the Nye County Sheriff’s Office. He was also engaged to be married.
Other victims included John Rodda, 52, who was killed on impact; and a 22-year-old woman and 5-year-old child, who were recovering at a nearby hospital.
Galindo has been booked into the Clark County Detention Center but is currently still receiving treatment for injuries sustained in the multiple crashes at University Medical Center.
