STROUDSBURG — A Monroe County Correctional Facility inmate is facing charges for injuring three corrections officers earlier this month.

WFMZ reports that Anthony Caiby, 39, was awaiting trial for homicide charges when officers attempted to place another inmate in Caiby’s cell. Caiby became confrontational, threatening to hurt the inmate and the officers.

Officers then attempted to restrain Caiby, entering his cell using a soft shield. Caiby responded by attempting to strangle one of the officers. Eventually, Caiby was subdued and placed in handcuffs and leg shackles.

Three officers were injured in the incident, including suffering a concussion, a knee injury and an arm injury.

Caiby is now facing aggravated assault, terrorist threats, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and resisting arrest charges.
