DALLAS — Security footage that shows the death of Joseph Hutcheson in a Texas county jail lobby has been released after persistent requests by his family.
The footage shows a man on the round with three sheriff’s deputies on top of him. There is no sound in the video, but WFAA alleges that one deputy can be seen placing his knee on Hutcheson’s throat.
Witnesses to the event said they heard Hutcheson yell out, “I can’t breathe.”

Hutcheson had previously checked himself into the ER of Parkland Hospital at 4:17 a.m. that day; around 10:24 a.m., he entered the jail lobby, yelling for help. Officials say that he was yelling that his wife was trying to kill him.
