ST. LOUIS — A city correctional officer was reported to be stable but in critical condition after being stabbed in the neck with a homemade knife Friday night at the St. Louis Justice Center downtown, officials said.
It happened shortly before 9 p.m. at the main city jail at 200 South Tucker Boulevard. The officer, a male in his 20s, was taken to St. Louis University Hospital. Officials said the incident occurred on the lockup’s third floor, and that a male attacker has been identified.
