PANAMA CITY — An inmate at the Federal Correctional Institution in Marianna has been convicted by a federal trial jury of assaulting and injuring a correctional officer.
WJGH reports that Kenneth Hobson, 33, forcibly assaulted a corrections officer after the officer attempted to search him for contraband. Hobson punched the officer multiple times in the face and body, eventually knocking him unconscious.
The officer sustained multiple contusions to his face and jaw, a fractured cheek bone, and a loose tooth.
Hobson faces a maximum of 20 years in prison and his sentencing is scheduled for November.
