CANTON, NY — Following a cell search, a St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility inmate was charged with possession of heroin.
North Country Now reports that K-9 Hershey was deployed and gave a positive alert for the presence of illegal narcotics. A search then turned up an unidentifiable tan powder substance that was tested and proved to be heroin.
Inmate Trista D. LaDue was charged with first-degree promoting prison contraband and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
