STEPHENS COUNTY, Okla. — A Stephens County inmate now faces charges of injury to a public building after two or more convicted felonies.
According to On Demand Court Records, William Dean Walles, of Duncan, faces charges of injuring a public building after two or more convictions. The charge was added to his record March 28.
Reports obtained from the courthouse indicate on Feb. 13, a deputy was given two jail incident reports and “the remnants of the fire suppression system sprinkler unit” used in the jail.
Affidavits show around Feb. 11, inmate Walles was placed on lockdown for his behavior over the course of the weekend. Reports allege Walles threatened an act of violence against a detention officer and show the inmate manipulated his cell door by jamming the lock so that the door would not lock, but would register as locked on the control board.
The inmate asked the jail administrator to remove him from lockdown, which was not granted.
This upset the inmate, along with personal issues, so at some point between 6:25 and 7:18 p.m., Walles flooded his cell, resulting in detention officers turning off water supply to the cell. Walles, according to reports, responded by then breaking the sprinkler head, resulting in another flooded cell.
Bond for this charge is set for $25,000.
