DENTON, Md. — Correctional Officer Robert Wilkinson was killed in a motor vehicle accident last week on his way home from work.
Wilkinson’s death was reported in a Caroline County (Md.) Government Facebook post.
“Words do not seem adequate to express our sorrow at the loss of Correctional Officer Robert Wilkerson, our hearts and prayers go out to Robert’s family for their loss and sacrifice,” Warden Charles Scott said.
Wilkerson started with the Caroline County Department of Corrections in 2007.
According to the post, he was regarded as outstanding and extremely caring by his colleagues and leadership team. The Caroline county commissioners asked residents to Officer Wilkerson’s family in their thoughts and prayers.
The Caroline County Sheriff’s Office also shared the news stating, “To the family, friends, and fellow correctional officers our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time and the days to come.”
