MARLBORO COUNTY, SC — A weekend incident at Evans Correctional Institution is being investigated after a female corrections officer was admitted to the hospital.
According to WBTW, the incident took place Saturday morning. An inmate attacked a female corrections officer with a hard object, leaving her with a fracture to the nose and head.
The officer, whose name has not been released, was hospitalized and then released over the weekend.
