LIVINGSTON COUNTY, NY — Full body scanners were brought to the Rochester International Airport back in 2008. Since, they’ve been removed because of negative passenger feedback.
There was some backlash about giving up privacy for increased security. Fast forward six years later, the scanners are back only in a different facility.
Livingston County Sheriff Tom Dougherty is excited about the scanners in his jail. There are only 173 in the country, and Livingston County has five.
