Corrections has experienced a transformation over the last several decades. Jails and prisons are no longer considered warehouses with little personal interactions limited to a simple turn of a key. Rehabilitation has become the main focus. NJACA is proud to recognize the innovative reentry work being done by New Jersey’s correctional entities that often goes unnoticed.
“Reentry from the Inside Out” featured panel discussions that showcased best practices in correctional reentry. Panelists discussed various reentry practices currently in place in their respective jurisdictions, covering topics such as education, programming, treatment, community outreach, and case management.
This event was a great opportunity to exchange insight and perspectives, and to learn about some of the unique reentry initiatives that have helped New Jersey to become a leader in criminal justice reform.
