WILMINGTON, Del. — At least six Delaware prison inmates are facing arraignment for their alleged role in a riot that resulted in a CO’s death and three other prison employees being held hostage.
The Washington Post reports that the inmates, five of whom are charged with murder, were scheduled for arraignments on Tuesday. The arraignments will be conducted via videoconference as they learn of the charges against them.
On Feb. 1, a riot broke out at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center. CO Steven Floyd was killed during the incident.
Eighteen inmates were indicted last month in connection with the deadly riot. Sixteen of them were charged with first-degree murder in Floyd’s death.
