CLEVELAND — Federal authorities accuse a former northeastern Ohio corrections officer of assaulting an inmate.
Marlon Taylor, 47, of Vermilion, has been charged with depriving an unidentified inmate of the right to be free from cruel and unusual punishment, U.S. Attorney Steven Dettelbach in Cleveland said yesterday.
Prosecutors allege that Taylor repeatedly struck and injured the inmate at the Lorain County jail in July 2012.
Taylor’s attorney did not immediately return a request for comment.
