STATEN ISLAND, NY — A state corrections officer was found passed-out drunk at the wheel of his car with his two young children, ages 6 and 2, as passengers, police allege.
When police and EMTs roused John Brown, 31, he told them that he blacked out drinking Ciroc, rapper Diddy’s brand of designer vodka, according to court papers.
An FDNY EMT found Brown, of the 300 block of Willow Road West in Westerleigh, slumped over the wheel of his 2006 Honda Civic, with its keys in the ignition and its motor running, at a strip mall parking lot on Marsh Avenue, across from the Staten Island Mall at about 9:45 p.m. Friday, court papers allege.
When police arrived, Brown was already inside an ambulance, court papers allege. He had vomit on his clothing, and police found more vomit on the front driver’s and passenger’s side floor of the vehicle, court papers allege.
Said Brown, according to court papers, “I was driving from my house to the mall after drinking an unknown amount of Ciroc. I have no idea what happened. The last thing I remember was leaving my house. I started drinking at about 6:30 p.m.”
He refused to take a blood alcohol test, police allege.
