LA BELLE, Pa. — Two corrections officers and a former SCI-Fayette inmate are accused of working together to traffic drugs in the prison.

Attorney General Dave Sunday, in conjunction with the Pennsylvania State Police and the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, announced charges against officers Beau Angelo, 37, of Uniontown, and Charity Thompson, 40, of McLeadtown, as well as former inmate Vadol Lewis, 33.

Investigators allege the corrections guards provided K2 and suboxone to inmates for payment, using electronic programs, such as CashApp.

“This case involves a betrayal of sworn oaths to protect the public, and conduct that threatens the public’s confidence in all officers with duties to keep their communities safe,” Sunday said.

“I commend the work of the investigative agencies who acted professionally and diligently to uncover this criminal organization, and thank the grand jurors for committing their precious time to hear testimony that led to the filing of serious charges.”

Lewis, after his release from the prison, allegedly sent the drugs to the guards for distribution.

Each is charged with felony counts of corrupt organizations, conspiracy, contraband and delivery of a controlled substance, and related offenses, regarding trafficking that was discovered in late 2024, prosecutors said.

Angelo and Thompson are no longer employed as corrections officers, Sunday said.

The charges were filed following a statewide grand jury investigation, he said.

Angelo and Thompson turned themselves in Monday and were arraigned, in which bail was set at $50,000 unsecured apiece.

Lewis is incarcerated in Allegheny County on unrelated charges and was expected to be arraigned Monday.
