DENVER, Colo. — A serial robber found dead in his jail cell this week hanged himself, Douglas County authorities said Thursday.The sheriff’s office declined to say what Michael Higginbotham, 38, used to hang himself because the investigation had not been completed.It also refused to confirm whether Higginbotham had been placed on a suicide watch.Authorities had been investigating at least 10 armed robberies allegedly committed by Higginbotham in the metro area and Colorado Springs in which painkillers were stolen.
