MARION, — A domestic dispute in Marion forced a neighborhood evacuation and led to a hostage standoff between a former prison guard and McDowell County sheriff’s deputies. Authorities say 24-year-old Patrick Loftin also fired a shot at responding officers.
The drama unfolded around 10 a.m. Monday in the 100-block of Riverbend Road.
