WILKES-BARRE — An inmate found guilty last month of assaulting two prison guards may not spend any extra time in prison for the conviction.

A Luzerne County senior judge sentenced Nathaniel Adderly, 42, to 30 to 60 months on charges stemming from the October 2012 incident, court papers indicate.

The documents say he is to serve the sentence at the same time as the sentence he is already serving.

He was found guilty in 2012 of violating the state’s Megan’s Law registration requirements and sentenced to three-to-six years in state prison. He is subject to lifetime registration after an earlier conviction of rape and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse.

Adderly was found guilty of two aggravated assault charges in a January bench trial before Senior Judge Joseph M. Augello. The inmate represented himself in the proceeding.

According to a criminal complaint, Adderly became combative with a correctional officer as he was being allowed into the yard. Adderly lunged at the officer, at which point several other officers intervened, the complaint says.

Two officers were injured during the struggle, according to court papers.
