GRAND RAPIDS, MI — It is possible the 21 years Willie Lee-Wilson Williams has lived as a free man will be far eclipsed by the expanse of prison time that could be laid before him today.
Williams will be in court Thursday, Aug. 15, for sentencing following his convictions last month on four counts of armed robbery, followed by a guilty verdict for the attempted murder of a jail guard.
After three days of testimony, a Kent County Circuit Court jury found 21-year-old Williams guilty of the Sept. 14, 2012, strangulation assault of corrections officer Jaclynn Rodriguez.
