WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — A Pennsylvania man convicted of strangling a pharmacist and his girlfriend has been sentenced to time served for escaping from prison in 2003 using a rope made from bed sheets.
Hugo Selenski has been imprisoned since June 2003, when authorities found at least five sets of human remains on his property north of Wilkes-Barre. He escaped from the Luzerne County Correctional Facility four months later.
Selenski remained on the loose for three days before turning himself in.
He pleaded guilty to escape charges and was sentenced Friday to a maximum of three years and five months.
He’s due to be sentenced later Friday to life without parole for killing Michael Kerkowski and his girlfriend, Tammy Fassett.
