MDOC correctional officer charged with armed robbery

CO and another were arrested after stealing a woman’s iPad and purse at gunpoint

CLINTON, Miss. — A corrections officer with the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility is now behind bars after being charged with armed robbery.

MS News Now reports that Kelsey McInnis, 22, is charged along with 19-year-old Terrell Brown with pointing a gun at a woman in the driveway of her home as they took her iPad and purse with cash and credit cards inside.

Investigators tracked credit cards used and the iPad’s location to apprehend Brown. McInnis turned herself in a few days later.

The two are also suspected in a second strong armed robbery that occurred on Monday.

McInnis began working as a correctional officer in November of 2012.
