HASKELL COUNTY, Okla. — Law enforcement agencies continue to search for a Haskell County Jail escapee.
Jail officials tell 2NEWS 36-year-old Edward Branch escaped around 1 a.m. Tuesday from the county jail where he was behind bars for aggravated assault, robbery by force or fear and first-degree burglary.
Officers have arrested Branch’s mother, Sara Branch, for harboring a fugitive and obstruction of justice. There’s no word yet how she may have aided her son.
This is the third time Branch has escaped from an Oklahoma institution. According to the Department of Corrections, Branch has an extensive criminal history.
