HARRISBURG, Pa. — The consecutive sentence for an inmate who admitted to spitting and biting correctional officers will stand, a Superior Court ruled Wednesday.

The Times Leader reports that Donald James Sherrill Jr. will still serve the three-to-six year sentence imposed by Judge Michael Vough after Sherrill plead guilty to spitting and biting correctional officers inside the SCI Retreat facility in Newport Township.

Sherrill resisted being handcuffed after a misconduct hearing and was being escorted to the restrictive housing unit inside the state prison.

Sherrill was originally serving eight to 16 years for a shooting in 2006.
