MELBOURNE — During a prison riot earlier this month, authorities announced that inmates were able to access the private information of prison officers.
9news reports that the Melbourne Metropolitan Remand Center officers have been informed of the breach.
Due to the security of the officers and their families, no details were discussed publicly.
July 1 riots over the introduction of a new smoking ban forced prison staff to evacuate the facility.
Prisoners broke into staff areas and caused damage estimated to be around $12 million.
